This mount is made from a flexible material to dampen the vibrations from the aircraft. The more vibration resistance a flight controller can be the less false sensor readings will accure leading to more percise sensor output to the control surfaces. Thats why flight controllers in drones are double rubber mounted to keep from unwanted oscillation. With this mount the velcro strap is not going around a part of the plane, so no transfer of vibrations are there from the strap either.
